December 13, 2018 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm

The Agenda for this meeting included discussing Airbnb and working sessions with Commissioners Lewandowski and Maley. Commissioner Leonard was not able to attend.

Airbnb

A complaint from attendees is that the current ordinance is not clear regarding short term rentals. Another attendee requested that the thought process be made more clear for residents. The was shared that there will not be an ordinance ready for the January 2019 meeting of the Board of Commissioners.

A proposal was shared by F.

C. shared a summary of information from an OPRA request from the Borough for complaints about Airbnbs

C. shared an online petition that was signed by 242 people.

J. shared information that was shared in a survey from the whatsupcollingswood website about Chickens and Airbnb

 

Working Sessions

Residents plan on attending different towns in the area to see how Working Sessions are carried out in the following towns:

  • Haddon Township
  • Audubon
  • Oaklyn
  • Haddon Heights
  • Haddonfield

 

Other Business

J. asked if a new Certificate of Occupancy is needed after reach renter? (Yes)

J. offered to share an idea about a crime mapping program that allows for residents to see patterns sooner to help prevent crime like theft. Example: https://www.crimereports.com 

 

Next meeting will be Thursday January 10th at 6:30 pm with a planned presentation from Lena S. From Food and Water Watch on the topic of Community Choice Aggregation (CCA)
